I was working as a second line support technician and I am responsible to resolve all assigned hardware and software problems within the allocated SLA. I support users in our head office as well as remote users in our 23 heath centres. I was in charge of coordinating our dental IT system and LBN system support.

Final year Project (Lotus Notes Development)

I wrote my final year project in corporation with IBM Deutschland GmbH, which included work at the German and English office. I have gained commercial experiences in Lotus Notes and Domino R5 during my final year project and the summer placement. I have developed a Domino R5 application database that allows the secure and fast distribution of confidential internal business reports for the IBM Opportunity Management Centre for my university project with the title “Data mining, transformation and distribution in a dynamic reporting environment”. The database incorporates LotusScript, Lotus formula and Lotus Domino design elements to provide a consistent view on the information for different groups of users.

Summer Placement

I developed a flexible, internal business reporting system for the forecast of the company’s trading development (OMC-Coverage-Grid). The developed highly complex spreadsheet tool was programmed in Lotus 123. During this time I also become skilled in the training and support of colleagues with different technical and social backgrounds. The appropriate system documentation was another responsibility for which I wrote several user manuals and guidelines during this placement.

I was involved in designing and organizing materials for the lectures in Information Management and New Media by the use of different Microsoft Office applications during my post as a scientific student assistant at this university chair. I have also been involved in some statistical analysis for one of the department’s research project.

I was responsible for the continuous availability of the hospital’s IT environment which consisted of several Apple Macintosh computers and a TCP/IP and AppleTalk network. I was in charge of the administration of users, all software and hardware and the annual IT auditing. Next to my duties in the computer department I was also involved in the management of the hospital. The planning and calculation of purchases, the settlements of accounts as well as user training had been some of my additional responsibilities. Furthermore, I had several administrative duties during the absence of colleagues in the administration.
