Information Governance Manager
Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust

I am responsible for developing and delivering the Information Governance Agenda for the newly formed organisation (after vertical integration of the Community Health Services with the Lewisham Hospital NHS Trust). I act as the Data Protection / Privacy Officer to ensure that the Trust complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and other legislation applicable to the NHS (including Records Management). 

As the Trust’s Registration Authority (RA) Manager I am responsible for the management of the RA function. I led the project to integrate the RA with the Electronic Staff Record system. 

Furthermore, I provide training (Information Governance and Registration Authority) for the Trust and am involved in many projects across the organisation. I am supporting the Trust in working in accordance to ISO 27001.

IT & Information Manager (Information Governance Lead and RA Manager)
Lewisham PCT - Community Health Services

I was leading on all matters of Information Management, Information Governance and Information Security for the Community Health Services in Lewisham. I developed strategic plans and directives in taking these areas forward in the current climate of changes within the Primary Care Trusts to ensure that the management, governance and security was adhered to and taken into account when merging with another organisation within the setting of realignment within community care provision across the country.

I also acted as the Data Protection / Privacy Officer for the Community Health Services and supported the integration of the Information Governance into the newly formed Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust.

I was leading on the setup of the Registration Authority (RA) across the Community Services in preparation for the upgrade of our Community Care Record System (RiO v5) and to ensure that the RA integrates seamlessly with the NHS Electronic Staff Record in NHS Lewisham and our new organisation.

Furthermore I was responsible for managing the Child Health Administration Team after its transfer from shared information services into the PCT.

ICT Support Analyst
Newham Primary Care Trust & Newham University Hospital NHS Trust, London

I worked as a second line support technician and was responsible for resolving all assigned hardware and software problems within the assigned SLA. I supported users in our head office as well as remote users in health centres. I was in charge of coordinating the support for the Dental and LBN systems. This position involved travel throughout the London Borough of Newham and it included some administrative duties.

During this time I have gained experiences in Windows operating system (2000 & XP), Microsoft Outlook and Exchange, Exact (Dental system), CareFirst and Ciber ChildIndex (London Borough of Newham software), PC build, configuration and deployment, hardware / software and network support, Microsoft SMS & Active Directory and Asset management.

I worked as a second and third line IT Support Analyst and internal systems developer for a small technology that specialised in IBM Lotus Notes and Domino software applications.

During this time I have gained experiences in Lotus Notes / Domino support & development, Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.

Lotus Notes Developer (Final Year Project)

I have gained commercial experience in Lotus Notes and Domino R5 during my final year project and the summer placement. I developed a Domino R5 application database that allows the secure and fast distribution of confidential internal business reports for the IBM Opportunity Management Centre as part of my university final year project with the title “Data mining, transformation and distribution in a dynamic reporting environment”. The database incorporated LotusScript, Lotus Formula and Lotus Domino design elements to provide a consistent view on the information for different groups of users.

Summer Placement
IBM Deutschland GmbH

I developed a flexible, internal business reporting system for the forecast of the company’s trading development (OMC-Coverage-Grid). The developed highly complex spreadsheet tool was programmed in Lotus 123. During this time I also become skilled in the training and support of colleagues with different technical and social backgrounds. The appropriate system documentation was another responsibility for which I wrote several user manuals and guidelines during this placement.

During this time I have gained experiences in LotusScript, Lotus Formula language, Lotus Notes / Domino R5, SQL, Microsoft Office / Lotus SmartSuite and Windows 95, NT, 2000.
